So many of those US highways across the US have been transitioned into 4 lane roads with medians that sometime the only difference is going through a urban area. Go however you want to go. I once on purpose missed the direct route to Baton Rouge just to go through the big easy on 10.
Rideandrepair, ulenie and Hammer166 Thank this. -
Just passing by, Rideandrepair, Farmerbob1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
The difference in miles is negligible, but the difference in time to travel those miles is significant. The fuel costs are greater. The stops and starts. Speed zones. Etc.
GPS devices do not include stop signs, red lights, farm vehicles, school zones, funeral processions or church traffic when calculating route times.
EDIT my 'Chicago' loads actually start in Joliet or Manteno, normally. On an actual Chicago to Atlanta load, I normally take 65.Last edited: Nov 25, 2018

Well, any time you run well and nothing bad is a good day to remember and cherish.
My last look at your radar in St Louis Kankankee has some big time fronts with rain and later on will be snow. You probably will be around 60 this PM and down below freezing tonight maybe.
Ive been watching Rolla MO. They are right on the edge of that mess. -
But the bootleg ways run deep...Suspect Zero, Bean Jr., Farmerbob1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
