My company doesn't like to hire so there isn't that you're replaceable attitude. My guys his the hiring process is too long and cumbersome they'd prefer to maintain guys so keep freight off the dock.

I'm getting a bit tired of being forced onto the dock at the end of my route. I get that I'm low man, but boy it does suck that I can't even get a heads up that I'm forced on the dock until I walk in to turn in my paperwork.

Free advice, take your time in the truck. Others killed that route, take your time.
Dock ain't bad, but it sucks get rewarded with more work. just want to go home. It's a mind game justifying your hours

Don't ever lie, just take your time. "hey bossman, im doing it right the first time no damage no problems"

What’s the best way to secure top heavy freight? I have this lady that give me boxes of like soaps and the boxes she uses are crap. She plastic wraps them fine, but as soon as I have to break around town the pallet leans on me. I strap them to the wall, but I think I may need to start using two straps per pallet. Today she gave me 6 which is out of the normal so I ran out of straps.

It’s almost as if the boxes collapse on thmselves

I’ve had her bottom layer of boxes somehow fall thru the tiny cracks of her pallets. Like morph into the crack be semi-leaning. It’s hard to explain without a photo

I always used dunnage. always have spare crap laying around. wedge that crap on the sides, make a fortress and tell the lady to use more wrap.

Valid point and well taken advice. However, it is a double edged sword though, I have a 10am start time, and for the most part go to Downtown Boston. Taking my time runs me the risk of not emptying my truck in the process. Just don't want to develop the stigma of being the guy that brings freight back every day.

I usually keep at least one empty pallet handy throughout the day from deliveries so that I can place the pallet along the side of a pick up, then I use one strap to tighten the pallet against it. Seems to spread the strength of the pallet well enough to keep top heavy stuff from shifting to the side.
