So I’m probably going to be looking toward getting my class A toward spring time and I’m wondering about companies that do sponsored cdl school. I know most of the big name carriers do it, but a lot of the times they put you with a “trainer” that has only been driving a few months themselves. This just seems like the blind leading the blind. I’d like to get with a company that has some higher standards for their trainers. Anyone have any suggestions for companies that have decent trainers?

As a suggestion
Look to your local employment (unemployment department) has a retraining ability. If your not working right now.
Look for a truck school that is in your town or. City. The local colleges usually have A truck driving training class.
Most will come on here and either bash a company or praise it like its better than Sliced bread.
Do you have an trucking companies in your area? Not any of the huge mega carriers See if they need help in the shop or washing the trucks. A lot of Times they may help you get your license. As well as learn the correct way to drive.CJ701, Suspect Zero, tscottme and 1 other person Thank this. -

the theory behind an "in-experienced" trainer training a newbie is that both will put their heads together in all situations and still complete the basics, which are, driving, picking up and delivering etc. We used this phylosphy at truck school. The students working with other students to teach each other. The instructor over seeing them.

That's great in "theory" but wouldn't you need two "newbies" and one instructor in the truck?
Trying to make sense of what you wrote. -
