after I get my authority, what insurance do I get? And also what are some good companies to go with? Any help and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Don't worry dude. As soon as ur application for dot/mc is submitted, there's gonna be a thousand phone calls and emails from so many 3rd parties ...
All of whom are trying to take care of the rest of the requirements before you can become active. (Boc3 is really the only thing u need help with) But yeah man you can count on a gang-load of insurance companies contacting you also. Do like I did and just entertain the quotes until you get the best one .Lemme tell you tho cat daddy ... insurance on a fresh authority is a mutherforker and I ain't bullshortinReliantInsurance, antistres and wwenstad1975 Thank this. -

Rigquote. I don't know if you can PM me or not on this site but if you can I'll give you my agents name and number. She's good. She'll explain everything and find you the best rate possible.

I went with progressive. Many 3rd party companies represent them. They also give discounts for ELDs and discounts you can earn for safe driving if you allow them to use the data from your ELD.
