A friend of mine was dealing with the same issues at Marten. He left them and went to California Overland Express based in Minnesota but he lives in Tennessee. Doing long runs and seems to be happy there.

Tonn Ostergard's own words `drivers are a dime a dozen, if you don't like it here, there is the door...I`ll have another driver in that seat next week`. Threats to leave don't work there, they simply don't care...

But let’s flip the coin over. Companies are a dime a dozen and every driver should have a dollar in their pocket. That’s why I keep my record spotless and my bank account full. I also spend my valuable time out here taking pictures of other companies and keeping them in a folder in my cell. You never never know when you need that info.
The difference between “the normal” steering wheel holder (no offense) and me is I don’t need them. I have no bills, debt free. They don’t own me. I can go weeks, months, years and still be financially well.
Will I? No... I’m just weird I guess, I live to run. But no more short hops or I go on strike again!
    Lmao‼️
I’m on the 930 mile run. PA to GA, I’ll have it there 5am Friday. He sent me a message (not my dispatcher, the other guy) and was happy to resolve the issue and will look for my next run. I honestly think he doesn’t want to lose me.
He said he couldn’t believe my average length of haul since doh. He said your the luckiest driver around. I replied, “I would hate to be the sad unlucky driver”. lol
I also said, the automated responses saying “that’s all we got is redicoulus”... I used to run the load boards and we used the same excuse.

Well, mine is a single bed room with huge jacuzzi tub in the bathroom lol. If I wasn't laid up with this fine woman, I'd get up and show you lol.

As for the other guy. I don't play well with bosses either. Instead of leaving at night, I left during the day most Summer days and worked 6 days. I did mostly strict 34s. Freight is slow right now and I have a bad start day, but I'm sitting pretty at 78.8K with a fat stash in the bank. I could care less about working right now lol.

Shaffer has long hauls. I'm on a 2542 mi. run from MS to WA now. They started me at $0.55/mi. on practical miles. $.01 raise after 30,000 mi and another $.01 raise after 60,000 mi. Oh and mi load delivers at 9 am. Like you said it's what works for you. Good thread. I'm curious why didn't you go with Shaffer instead of Crete?

Today, after I dropped that load early in Atlanta. @ 6am... I had all day to drop.
Dispatch has me move 1 MT to another location thro Atlanta. 6 miles. He says you’ll get those 6 miles on the next load. Of course it took me 1 hr to do because of Atlanta. Then he shoots me a load from GA to southern MN. 950 for miles drops Monday with 35 hrs left on my clock. Jeez I could do 1500+ with all that time.
    I #####ed about the 6 mile ########.

Either they make things right with me or I’m gone. I want (3) 1000 mile trips a week with no bs games.
Is that too much to ask? Apparently, I think so.

Maybe I should switch to Shaffer? Probably the same bs, I need to fire my dispatcher. Was thinking about switching to MGR for .60 CPM.

How long have you been here? I started in August and apparently the honeymoon stage is over.

For anyone who wants to know my dispatcher is Rob. If he keeps up these little hauls I’m going to contact my TM for a final result then switch companies if nothing gets resolved.
