Is it just me, or are cars trying to wreck into trucks on purpose lately?

He was probably in a pick-up truck wreck.

 

Which is why I am baffled by some drivers with a dangerous following distance.

1/2 of the battle is YOU driving defensively & I see ALOT of drivers not using the smith system.

 

Scum attracts more scum.

See, these ambulance chasing lawyers are the bottom feeders of their industry. The thing that they are counting on is that you, the truck driver, public enemy number one, did not
1. read the green and white Bible and don’t know the regs.
2. take the right pictures to prove your claim of what happened.
3. have a dash cam
4. know that you never apologize. Ever.
5. know that there are several words that you do not say to LEOs investigating the crash.
6. the trucking company’s lawyer is not representing you.

well around here we have lawyers advertising about truck accidents, so i would assume a lot are planned to cash in.

 

Little Rock has a number of them that's really predatory about that. If you got dinged by a big rig everyone knows that it's a minimum of 250K settlement according to some of the older bad advertising.

Now as a practical experience while driving I am accustomed to the deliberate insurance scammers. They come up on the left in a older car (My last one was a Rabbit believe it or not, so out of place and time) really slow eyeballing me in the mirror. If that does not get the hair rising on your neck...

Then briskly move out front left change into your lane about one second in front and stop dead in front of you to nothing. All 4 people in there are watching you come on which is totally unnatural the whole time.

If you are not ready you will hit them. You cannot stop so you evade them. If you did not have constantly a open lane to jump into and be prepared to wrestle with your rig or use large inputs plus a video camera to document that scam attempt you are already in trouble all around.

The only saving grace is they do not do this in narrow areas of pavement. My last one was southbound at the crossbronx prior to the bridges junction with plenty of pavement all around. (In the rain and alone even. Just me and them and ABS.)

In my mind, heart and soul people who pull that crap are walking dead (Or in this case riding and driving dead) and if I can help it Im not going to be the idiot that executes them with the 18 wheeler.

 

So a chance of being dead and maimed is worth x amount of money? intelligent species.....right. more of a Darwin award.

 

Saw a billboard in North Carolina several years ago that said, "Need Money? We will sue anyone."
There are several high profile "Truck wreck" lawyers here in Texas. I have wondered, if you call them and asked which trucking company should i get into a truck wreck with for the highest payout, would they steer you to a "Big Payday"?
