I new hear guys and really need you opinion. I am looking to buy a truck for my guys and have also been driving since 2007. I have been in a lot of different rigs and this KW T660 with the 550hp Cummins with a 13 speed was solid and strong. It has 400K miles and is a lease return. I am have dyno test with blowby reading done today but wanted your opinion.
    Thank you all!

You may want to read up on the isx not the most reliable motor.

That means it probably has a 2013 isx. Which means a good chance it has the ceramic fuel pump. Which is an engine killer.

I am glad mine is a July 2015 isx (2016 truck). After they changed it to steel fuel pump. Which still have issues, just less. I still plan to change it as preventative maintenance, and yes I know it's expensive. Same for the turbo. Same story if either if them fail good chance your engine is done. 400-500 thousand miles.

That's why I'm a little nervous. I have read all kinds of stuff on the isx and the Detroit and theres pros and cons to them all. It is a lease return and the KW dealer has all the service record and things like the fuel pump update have been done.

Was $54,900 but got it down to $52,500. I will have the dyno test with blowby readings done to see how this engine is holding up...

I will say this. I am new to driving cummins never having driven one before this current truck. They do sound like they will blow apart at any minute. It takes getting used to, big time. But mine does produce good, solid, smooth power. Just the sound it makes.....especially if you are beside a wall and accelerating (when I exit us customs at detroit). Everyone says it's normal, just drive it. So far so good. Knock on wood.

There's also a lot of emission maintenance to do on these things and do not idle them overnight unless it's very cold. Maintenance being def filter and doser, dpf doser, all kinds of sensors, what's the pressure across the dpf? Rawze.com has a lot of info to keeping these things healthy. Has egr been replaced? Egr valve? These are common fail points. If not caught the dpf gets coolant in it, causes more problems. I would buy one new if you can swing it.

The Egr valve has not been replaced. But I did get the records that show the SCR Catalyst was replaced when the truck had 74K miles back in June of 2014. That was under warranty and shows the cost at $6161. Wow, I am started to worry it could happen again anytime with all the emissions stuff.

Ecm print out, see idle hours
    Dyno...blowby test
Ask for a print out of all fault codes logged. The ecm keeps them all unless they are deleted. If it shows no codes ask why. Even running the def low to the light comes on sets a code. Headlamp fault? (Burned out bulb) Code. Code code code.

It's a gamble any way you cut it. They will probably get about 50k for this unit.
