Oh get over it with all that "im to scared" to go there crap.
Place needs to be fenced in, cameras and lights would be great. On site security would be awesome.
It is a place to park trucks and trailers ONLY. No working on equipment. It is not a mechanic yard. Plus that would invite trouble (drinking, drugs, ######, etc)
NO, I say again NO over night sleeping in trucks allowed. Reason listed above. 1st violation is warning. 2nd violation is kicked out.
Drive in, back into your ASSIGNED MONTHLY PAID spot. (Jersey barriers to make spots) Get out and go home.
To the owner make sure you make friends with the bpd a SGT or Lt would be best.
Now about price, I say it has to be monthly with first TWO months up front. Someone said $300.($3600 a year) ya Good luck with that!! $100-150 and you will be full with a waiting list. Hace you figured out or estimated how many spots you can make?

Yes,that's good and smart. My friends and I get together and talk about these problems, and what can be done. And the only real solution is move to a safer area. I live out in the county, too, but still close enough to Baltimore to be effected by its problems. The crime in my county has increased in leaps and bounds, also. I feel fairly safe where I live, but I have loaded firearms at the ready.

I haven't figured out how to lay out property yet. I have a few guys looking to lease 2-5 acres for their trucks so waiting to see how much space I have left.

Well good luck to ya. I park at a small truck stop by my house. They only have 26 spots, and 9 of them are per month paid spots. I pay $115 a month. The other spots are for over the road guy's to over night. They charge $10 a night for them. They have a deal with the local how company. So if a guys trys to stay without paying. They wake up with a car parked in front of them. At that point it's either pay or be towed. At a cost of $250

To ensure a continuing problem in Baltimore is the original people who made the city their home within the 100 to 200 years time period has all died off and replaced by different races moving in intent on violence and other issues.

We pretty much left the city behind in my life time. I don't know how many of us emigrated from there either into western maryland or out of the state entirely but plenty. It's not going to get any better. And has not for decades.

What's really crazy is that a certain type of City Hall has been in place since the 68 riots 50 years ago and continues to crack down on weapons etc which does nothing. I would not enter that city again without being full up on 255's in super. And even then, never south of North Ave. I see about two generations more of the killing and violence until it is finally resolved one way or another.

Nothing says secure an feel safe leaving your stuff with us and our 7.25 an hour security guards!

You get what you pay for.

An then people wonder why security does nothing to save you or your stuff.

7.25 an hour your #### is on it's own. That would barely cover a band aid an a bottle of advil.

I’ll say save yourself the headaches, rent the whole place to one big carrier as a drop lot,let them worry about security, collect one check and enjoy your money.
Dealing with truck drivers drama will take you to an early grave, ask any truck stop cashier.
I park my truck in a paid spot everytime i go home,is just me another o/o and 5 trucks fleet with company drivers:came to the truck one early morning to find a trash bag hanging on my landing gear,i was so upset i would’ve shot whoever did that.

Im sorry for implying minimum wage boys at the gate who could care less about the lot...

With that said I know of two lots where trailers hold millions in narcotics protected by what I consider to be pretty good security. However... I am a little damaged remembering Jersey City and know that if someone knew what was in those things they can get to it easily enough.

Like what was said earlier, save yourself from head aches and just rent it to one big carrier . Avoid truck driver drama at all costs !!

Did you change your name? I didn't quote you. ;)

Point of my post was quite simple I thought...

You get what you pay for.

At 7.25 an hour I wouldn't expect much to be done to protect your property. Pay more then min. wage an maybe they'd care. Pride in your job an all that you know? It's cool tho...it's not my stuff that will be kept in that lot.

go head an pay that crappy wage to someone whose job is to protect your stuff. I'll be here with popcorn when the #####ing ensues about the crap security.

Good luck with the lot to the OP. I hope you hire good quality personal to keep your lot secure along with the razor wire, machine guns, rockets, etc others would like you to have. ;) A secure place in a city like Baltimore is a good idea for folks to park their stuff fleet or otherwise.

    Sirscrapntruckalot - Merry Christmas!
