Looking to get into auto transport. Around the fontana/Ontario/San bernardino area. I see professional auto transport on job boards. Is that company any good? Says commission pay. Anyone know anything about them? Are there any other companies I should look into? Got 5 years experience no tickets no accidents...

    Thanks

@Chinatown I noticed you're the trucking company guru around here. Do you know anything about good auto transport companies near this area? Thanks

I know very little about car hauling opportunities; the drivers seem to keep any success stories a secret.
The usual companies though are MDL Transporting & Hansen & Adkins Auto Transport.. Don't know if Cassens works that area or not.

If you don’t have experience hauling cars get with anyone that will hire you. After a year you can move to a better company and you’ll know who is who in the industry.
I see professional all ove the port in San Diego. Also check Hansen & Adkins.

Hansen has billboards all over the southeast looking for drivers. I'm pretty sure they train new car haulers.

Also take a look at LNR Transport they are recruiting in Cali due to some new contacts that they have come into. I think they said they’ll train. They seem to have really good equipment to.

Do you know anything about the company that you'd like to share?

Also for anyone else. If you got offers to work for professional auto transport and Hansen and Adkins which one would you choose?

I've never worked out of So Cal but I do know the owners of Professional, H & A and Jack Cooper, all are above board guys. H & A has the advantage because they're a bigger outfit, Professional has nicer equipment. Comparatively, rates are 'not ideal' in the Golden State.

Other companies in the neighborhood are Fleet Car (now owned by United Road), United Road, Selland Auto Transport (now owned by Jack Cooper Transport), Deluxe Auto Transporters (DBA Excel). Selland voted to be Teamsters a few yrs ago but has no contract, have to see how that plays out since JCT, a union company, bought them.

Decide what you want to run, short stuff around LA, run to San Diego with a return, out to Phoenix with a return out of Vegas....or not. Ask the recruiter then ask the drivers. Hang out near a terminal sometime and ask them, separate the BS from all that info and you should have enough to make a decision.

Don't know much about LNR, sounds like Tesla and that's a wild card, could be some long loads out of there that pay premium or BS rates.

Remember, whatever they're paying, it's not enough! The $ is there, it's just how the pie gets sliced!
