Looking for a different job with 100% no touch freight.

    Oh btw when i said new drivers make mistakes, I wasnt implying I don't. Lol. I make my fair share, to be sure. Some guys make more than others.

    I had a guy that love surfing curbs, got the truck stuck in grass, and couldnt read English so he'd follow his GPS down dead ends, into residential areas, etc. I stayed patient with him. Then one time I left my wallet with my CDL at a Loves and had to drive back for it 200 miles. He was pretty upset. Haha! My issues isnt as much road stuff it's boneheaded things like leaving stuff behind. Usually right after waking up. We drive all hours! So my sleep schedule is pretty ad hoc right now. And I cant sleep on command so sometimes I wake up but I am not really all the way awake and thats when i am most error prone.

    I enjoy pulling reefers because of the night work involved.

    If night work doesnt appeal to you, you can find some great paying flatbed work out there since you got some experience there. I passed on that because they like to load and unload during business hours. Not my thing. But a lot of guys here like it and make good money.

    They like being able to show off their work in loading/securing to everyone on the road on an open deck.

    Reefers are enclosed so no one sees your nicely stacked, wrapped, and secured pallets. Not a big deal to me, but I can understand getting the recognition. Flatbedder are also helpful, they still have a bit of fellowship with each other, it seems.

    Most will tell you to avoid the L/P programs. The cards are usually stacked in the carriers favor.

    OP don’t be afraid to walk away from a POS job. Yes, your circumstances are different with the felonies on you. But that doesn’t mean you have to eat whatever someone puts on your plate. It’s your plate.

    It wasn’t that long ago when the mentality was drivers are a dime a dozen. And it’s still true in a sense. But, so are trucking companies. Especially now.

    This mad rush to hire drivers at any cost won’t last long. So look, and look hard at companies. And hope for the best. Then stay put for awhile.

    But don’t every be afraid to walk away. Especially if you have a good driving record. That record will trump any felony going forward, with the right company.

    I could quit today. Drive off the lot, and have no less than 2 offers before I walked in the house. If I wasn’t already putting my gear in another company’s truck.

    I didn't see too many details there. A lot on the different dealerships to go through, but nothing on pay, etc.
