Thanks, I believe that I will. I been thinking about it just to have the Big X on my license. If I don't use it at least i'll have anyway. And thanks for the heads up on the transformers, I didn't thinks about that. I do have the haz-mat anyway, I just couldn't think of a reason to use it for flat bedding (skate bording). Good info.

Most of my hazmat experience (nuclear fuel and sodium cyanide) was flatbedding.

I like optimism as much or more than anyone. All the companies I was looking into for a job were flatbedding and it's really what I wanted to do. It seems though that flatbedding is one of the most devastated load types right now though. Please be careful about the numbers and projections for that line of work throughout this next year. I would keep the effort in the tractor part right now and consider renting another kind of trailer until the storm blows over. I don't know that I intend to pull hopper-bottom forever, but I had to pick it for some insulation from the freight problems right now.

    BabiBoi357 Thanks this.

I appreicate all the inputs I can get right know. For the first 6 mths or so I will be a company driver anyway. I'm even paying for my own school, as to not be obligated to any company that offers to pay for your class, and then charge you a arm & leg to pay it back. The way I see it there already making about 70 to 80% off our labor, shouldn't that be repayment enough. Once again thanks for everyone's input.

What are your plans for tomorrow? Are you going to get your trailer? Did you check-out the Autumn Transport video?

    7am Fuel up
    8am pickup trailer (earliest available)

Will spend some time going over the trailer with the last guy that pulled it and get some tips.

?am take tractor/trailer for certified cleaning.

HOPEFULLY by noon, calling to get my first load instructions!

I'm at the Autumn site but haven't found the vids... I'll keep digging, definitely gotta see it.

Found it. I see there's a crank to open the bottom. Have to make sure they give me that handle! I saw bolts but nothing was attached on the one I'm picking up.

I'll still have to get them to once over opening and securing the tarp. Right now water has collected on top making it extra heavy. Interested to see how that's gonna work.
