Engine date of manufacture Glider

I went to Detroit with my serial number and they say mine is an 04 egr motor...
It's a Schneider glider..absolutely no egr. Sticker on the valve cover and the tag attached to the block both have the same number. Should I look under the tag on the block for a stamped number?

I sent you a PM on how to get the information youre looking for. I had the same problem trying to find the original manufacturing date for my glider. Almost positive your engine is going to be a 2002.

I called Detroit customer service as well as the local Freighter dealer. They could not do me any good on finding the original number of the engine.

Finally I called Detroit Reman East where the engine was rebuilt and talked to the guy in the warranty department.
I gave him the reman serial number and he was able to look up the original serial number of the engine and the manufacture date. No one else had been able to do that.
He sent me an email with company markings stating that reman engine serial number xxxxxxx was built using engine serial number xxxxxxx which was originally manufactured on xx/xx/xxxx.
He was the only person I found that had the information.
Again this was at Detroit Reman East where they rebuilt the engine.
The only markings on the engine now are what they put on after remanufacturing it.

I am carrying a copy of the email in the truck for DOT. I'll have to wait and see how that goes over.

Just call a Detroit Diesel shop and tell them you're trying to figure out the mfg date of a series 60.
They'll ask you for last 6 digits of serial #. It takes them about 15 seconds to pull the info up. I bet yours would be 1997ish.
So far we know
41xxxx is 1998
550xxx is 1999
688xxx is 2002

5713xx is Jan 2000

I drive a 2012 Coronado Glider with a 12.7L series 60. The Engine was manufactured Jan 14, 2000 s/n 06r5713xx.
