This thread is funny but what’s sad is that there are so many drivers driving old clunkers so they can drive 20 hours a day.
    :(

The 11/14 clocks are by the person, not the truck or the job. You can only be on duty for 14hrs per day per person, only drive 11 of those hours. So op your friend is quite illegal.

But wouldn’t you agree that the people driving new trucks are more rested, provided that the shop lounge has comfortable chairs or are near hotels?

    Czar_Zero and TripleSix Thank this.

    It’s alwaysbeen like that..

“Back in the good ole days if someone was broke down then everyone stopped to help...,”

Even back then trucks broke down, and a whole lot more than they do today.
Because everyone carried a lot of spare parts.

    Back to the OP..........

I Get it, Your friend obviously wants/needs 2 jobs because evidently 1 job isn't cleaning up all the Bills,oR its not allowing money for savings/retirement.

    I Get it,I Truly do.

All I can say is....You Have 1 Life- Make the Best of it,But That Will catch up to him sooner or later...He Will Get completely Burned out and say "Fock this" and return to just 1 job,Or he will Get in Trouble with the Law because of being Drowsy.

What I did early on in the 90's was Work Regional Monday Thru Friday- (12 hour days) Then for extra income..I'd Pull Rail Cans (Crosstowns) On Saturday and Sunday thru a different carrier to Supplement income- it became exhausting- BUT It Paid for my Kids Schooling and paid off the house.
