1968 Mack twin stick 15 speed triplex

    Try to find out more about that engine. A V8 engine of that era very well may be a Detroit. If it is, it will have more than 270 horsepower. Unless maybe it's a two valve head? Don't know the specs for that.

    If it is a Detroit combined with that 15 speed transmission that's a good combination for a low bed.

    No one will miss you coming or going, that's for sure.

    Tri plex is two sticks.......3 ranges and a 4 speed if I recall my neighbors B model correctly

    thanks for the replies. I'm going today to drive it and I'll get more information about engine and snap some pictures. Ill post back tonight.

    As far as splitting the gears go. Is that something that is needed only on heavy loads? I'm practicing going through and splitting all the gears but with a empty trailer you can just put it in direct and go through the 5 gears.

    END 864? No turbo right? With a turbo those 864's were 325 hp. Nice find man. What's the engine tag say and can you get some more pics of the engine when you get a chance.
