Does it matter ... Does a company job come tax free, no out of pocket insurance, no 401k contributions.

Do you then think it wise to do your own srart up business using that equipment ? Since the megas seem to think that it makes good business sense to let go of such equipment? Just asking......as it has been pointed out, I have never done a lease purchase......

My guess would be that if you got into a used J B Hunt tractor .....since J B Hunt keeps up with all maintenance religiously , your chances of getting by with less frequent breakdowns are greater than buying from some other company ......its a crap shoot really......regardless.....thats kind of how I see it......you would have to get a mechanic to thoroughly inspect the unit.....plus, with a lease purchase in high mileage units, you have no warranty coverage right? Just seems too risky any way you slice it up to me.....

Heres a question for somebody on the carrier side......regardung the lease purchase model.....Dont you think that in creating a new pool of "entrepeneurs" most of them desperate in trying to simply make payments, taking low rate freight, etc. In doing so, cause rates to stay low? If your model keeps l/p drivers hauling within the freight perimeters of your customers especially, wouldnt that just promote your own rates to have less chance of increasing?Or are you simply being dishonest about the rate con?

Do your L/P drivers get to see the rate Con? Brokers.....u chime in as well.......see.....these questions I have had for nearly 3 decades......I find that it would be all too easy for the driver/ purchaser to get screwed so easily.......its what you cant see.......that is part of the model.......or should I say, is most likely taking place - too many ways for the lien holders to continue the nickel and dime game long after they release or "dump" the liabilty, responsibilty on to another.......maintenance escrow, a fee here, a fee there , a kick back from these folks, rate differentials, so many different pots to pull from.......

I can still regard lease purchase as a bad business.........taking these unknown variables into account.......it might be considered as just "good business" to some.....or "smart".....nope......crooked and cheap tricks - the L/P driver believes he /she is just on a path to being a businessman........well, you may be.....on the tail end of some bizzarre level yes.....I suppose......

I think that the carriers who engage in this L/P stuff would idealy be content with some poor soul driven by fear of missing a payment, to be out there, hanging by a thread week in week out.......teetering .....and turn truck in ....then they can heartlessly start process all over with a new, excited and unsuspecting soul......of course, some guys have to succeed or else the game wouldnt last too long......like I suggested before.....I think companies should be awarding these old trucks as gifts to their 1 million milers........say, at 1 million miles you get truck on a low payment plan......after 1.5 even better, 2 million FREE TRUCK .....now....if they really wanted drivers to succeed and make money, why not this? .....huh? ......

Heck, if companies did something like this truck giveaway, tgeyd have drivers lined up to get jobs there, and reward them for longevity.......might work wonders,!

If a driver worked and planned on getting an award truck , it would give him plenty of time to save, clean credit, prepare for being an owner op......right?
