Uh... The worst of the worst! Not only do I want to lose this weight (not necessarily in 60 days, but under 90 would be great!!!) but I'm going to have to do with while being on the road a month at a time with a co-driver who, in part, dictates my schedule.

Quite the challenge. Which is why I'm posting about it, because I believe that it can be done.

The plan is simple: keto diet combined with intermittent fasting leading up to, ultimately, OMAD (one meal a day). Exercise will be limited to no closer than 4 hours before I eat, not a moment later. Exercise will consist of jogging, slow compound movements (like push ups, squats, pull ups, etc..), and lots of isometric training to avoid injury and increase strength. Not too hard in theory...

Meals will likely be bought on the road at a grocery store and then cooked at a truck stop of rest area. Eggs area biggy so I'll have to find a way to hard boil them.

With OMAD, my metabolism will slow. It's unavoidable anyways since I wont' be too active while driving team. There's no rule about having to have a high metabolism in order to lose weight. I'm not working out to build muscle, but rather to maintain it and increase strength. Besides, having extra muscle doesn't burn more fat it's not active muscle. Yes, you can have tons of muscle and still have a slow metabolism, and you can have very little muscle and a very fast metabolism. Building extra muscle does very little to help you lose weight.

In any case, being a truck driver, having a slow metabolism is actually preferable since you don't have to stop to eat often.

Anyways, that's the plan. I just thought I'd share it and hopefully, maybe inspire some comments are get feedback on it.

    Thanks!

I don't know about slow. You will have to be alert many a hour on the road in situations such as the Cross Bronx Epwy.

If you work to unload freight from the trailer by hand (45000 pounds in a few hours) you will maintain weight or lose some of it that way. If you do not get enough food and fluids (Food in particular) your brain may go offline and drop you. That is not something you want while moving a 18 wheeler. It takes a while but it will happen in time when it fails to receive the necessary nutrients first from food then by mining your muscles then finally what little there is on your bones.

I can encourage you to eat just enough to get through the long hours of sitting. But not so much (Or even normally) to start to gain weight. Calorie intake is a form of fuel. But too much is stored as fat.

My wife lost that much, in that time frame with Keto. She also worked really hard in the gym, but I know it's possible.

Dropping half a pound a day for 30 pounds in 60 days is a very tall order.... unless you're starting at quite a heavy weight to begin with.

Google calories to maintain weight, use a few of them see where you are approximately. The only way it works is if you burn more than you eat. Knowing what you're eating is the key. To drop .5 a day you need to burn 1750 more than you eat every day. More realistic is 500-1000 per day.

Calories are a great way to measure your food intake, but calories aren't everything. From my research, the biggest factor in burning fat is controlling your insulin hormone. You cannot burn fat while insulin is in your system, pure and simple. Which is why the keto diet and intermittent fasting work so well since they both inhibit the creation of insulin from your pancreas.

There are other factors, of which I'll get to later, but please understand that I'm not disagreeing with you and that I will be watching my calorie intake.

That was the next thing I was going to say. Insulin is everything. I find it much easier now to not snack on junk food. My sweet tooth is all but gone. I stumbled a lot over the holidays, but I am back on track now. I am glad to be back at work.

Insulin will make someone hungry and keep them hungry. Basicly..... to make it short.... I cut out all sugar and other empty calorie foods. I now eat anywhere from 2-4 times a day of small meals or small snacks. 1 can ravioli = meal. 400 cal. 1 bowl cereal vector and 2% = meal. Rule is I can only fill it once. 500 or so calories. Subway 6" subs only and not chicken bacon ranch instead steak and cheese. No more (not a lot anyway) bad habits. No more 4x king chocolate bars and a half gallon of choc milk while I'm laying in the sleeper at 3 am. No more sugar pop. I still do diet Pepsi not giving that up. No more arbys where I never can decide on chicken or beef so standard procedure was order combo of 1 + add other sandwich. Supersise everything. Who orders half subs? That's a waste of money and for idiots. Single burger? Why? 1.50 double it up. I've completely changed my mindset and have dropped about 35 pounds in half a year.

I look at it more as how would the 150-175 pound version of me eat? So I eat like that. I don't want to be a miserable 400 pound man. I would of ended it all before I got there. It's actually pretty well top priority in my life now. When I'm home I go to the gym and actually enjoy it again. I want to feel young again before it's too late.

Keto is absolutely amazing for losing weight. The trick with keto is staying on it. You must not eat enough carbs or you will feel very sluggish and have a hard time going back. As long as you have food you’ll be ok. How I do it is Costco. It’s going to be hard without a cooler.

They sell moon cheese (like cheetos but only cheese), they sell hard boiled already peeled organic eggs. Zipfiz drink mix that has 1000mg of potassium. Lunch meat.

Probably also know it's impossible to out-exercise a poor diet...
So many folks figure they'll run or go to gym or do whatever to lose weight. While it does help...it is much more work to do that than it is to just make better choices re: food input.

1 chocolate bar is like 1 hour of running. Way easier to just not avoid the chocolate bar.

Keto is just Atkins. Don't eat carbs, force body to lose weight. The idea does work.

The very idea of diet is dumb to me. What you going to eat like after the diet is over and you've met your target weight? Go back to eating crap and you will pack it on faster than before.
Or just eat decent and call it a permanent change of how you eat.

2000 or less cal a day is a good target. Staying away from sugar makes it a lot easier. And make wise choices in the restaurant. I get the salmon with rice and broccoli often when I go in dennys. Probably like 800 cal and it's real food.
