I rubbed against a tree limb with the the section of my trailer where the wall meets the roof and tore the limb down. It ripped some aluminum off and you can see daylight in the trailer. No tickets were issued, but employer had me fill out an 'accident' form when I got back for insurance purposes. What do you guys think? In hindsight, I should have crumpled their form up and told em if they dont like it, fire me. Wish I had now, lol.
Rubbed a tree limb, Accident or Incident???

Base value...incident. Don’t sweat it
NightWind and BigDog Trucker Thank this. -
It’s an incident for you. Accident for insurance filing. Not a big deal really. Unless your employer makes one of it, with you.
NightWind, BigDog Trucker and Bean Jr. Thank this. -
Should have put some duct tape over it and not said anything.
I wouldn't do that to an owner-operator with a few trucks, but dang sure would if working for a mega. -
Probably shoulda fixed it if possible.
BigDog Trucker and Chinatown Thank this. -
If you hit something it's an accident. If you do an evasive manuever or hard braking its an incident.
Cam Roberts Thanks this. -
Neither will show up on your PCP, and both would be the same on your DAC. What are your concerns?
