I'd be very interested in knowing how you got 600 plush and 2050 torque? I have a red top supposedly 525 in my winch truck. 18 &4 engine flat doesn't perform with my b model cat. I'd appreciate any useful suggestions?
KB3MMX, jamespmack and rank Thank this. -
What's your CPL? I can tell you if Cummins re-rated it to 525 it yas the low box program and is not impressive.KB3MMX Thanks this. -
Any more info on this? I would like 600hp and 2050 torque?
KB3MMX Thanks this. -
I got my dealer to put a 550 h.p. 1900 ft-lb program in my stock N14.
It is a Cummins program for off road haul trucks. It pulls good but it does make some black smoke when you shift.
When dealer called Cummins because upload kept failing, Cummins told me they wouldn't do it because my driveline wasn't rated for it. I told them "I own, I drive it, it's paid for and if it blows up I'll part it out."
So then they gave it to me, LOL.2013Maxx, KB3MMX and broadsword Thank this. -
Kudos to the original poster. For thinking outside the box. Water meth injection is cool despite the complainers. I find the 200 degree EGT drop on hills interesting. I’m seeing max 950 degrees on my setup with sensor post turbo.
I started my driving career in N14s, off-road. Since have driven most of them. Cat, Detroit and Cummins of all vintage.
To this day I’d take an m11, N14 or C15 over any. The N14... can idle for 3 weeks without shutting it off. It can pull heavy stuff through mud. It can run 20 years and not leak a drop.
A genuine pollution emitter... no egr, filters or unneeded fluids. Just go.
currently I’m owner operating a 98 M11 celect plus 370 hp. Day cab pulling containers. I’m gvw often.
I might up it to 400hp maybe. I’m more concerned with making money day in day out, Than going fast. I’m finding slow is good. Getting the loads done is working.
This 25 year old engine has 900,000 miles and doesn’t burn oil or leak a drop. She runs all day, every day.
Take me back... To 1999. Celect plus -
Looking into tuning an N14. @OP can you give us an update how the truck is still running, genuinely interested. Thanks

It's in a T800 with a 62" studio. Paid $18,000 CDN in 2007 I bet I could get 2x that now.Last edited: Aug 22, 2022
