There’s something to be said for the fact a tiny fraction of the nation’s workers are responsible for 100% of the entire nation’s commerce at the retail level.

No retail business can stay open more than 3 days if a truck driver somewhere doesn’t do his/her job

 

Hyperbole.

Man you people need to get over yourselves.

Local markets have no use for trucks. Farm to market sites are all around you. Most just choose the mass produced budget items.

Or sure some of the nations cesspools may fold when the innercity dregs find out what supplies them. But 99% of the country will just move on.

I have no idea what extra ammo is. I have practice, target, hunting, tracer, armor piercing, and some incendiary......no idea what extra ammo would be

Hungry society will label us as
Truck drivers against AA
Truck drivers against Latinos
Truck drivers against kids
Truck drivers against LGBT
and on and on.
Every activist group will be busy to blame us.

 

I wish we done it.Can't you guys survive without one paycheck? I am a foreigner but I wouldn't move that truck for 3-7 days no problem.(Unless offered some obscene amount of money to do so ofc)

 

We’re all spokes in a wheel, no more or less important than the other spokes that make this country run.

Truckers always talk about shutting down to show everyone how important they are, but what happens when there’s a port strike? Or any strike for that matter that affects truck freight? Drivers complain about whomever is striking. So what do they think the general opinion of the public would be if drivers #### down? For the most part they already don’t like us.

 

When I was a mechanic I had several drivers tell me that I wouldn’t have a job if it wasn’t for them, then they would just give me a dumb look after I told them that if it it wasn’t for me they would be broke down on the side of the road.

 

All the article did was make disgruntled drivers even more disgruntled. If every truck driver went on strike, the show will go on somehow. This isn't 1974. It's 2019 with a lot of advancements in the bigger population. They will figure out a way to get around people who are full of themselves. The funny thing is, we all have to help each other, in and out of the industry, yet everybody thinks that his/her job is more important than any other.
