Most OTR carriers will boast $60K-75K/year earnings. Whether you will make that, without literally living in the truck and resetting on the road on the other hand... it all depends on how much money means to you, and how little you value your home time.

I worked about 9 months last year, maybe less. Grossed $42k and some change.

Had I stayed out, I probably could have grossed $75k It’s the coming in that kills you. Short miles as they plan you there. Then zero when you get there.

I think they should require a disclaimer on trucking ads. Up to $75k if you never go home.

Unless you’re Union. Then they just stay quiet ;)

Exactly. Their most senior drivers, on the best routes, might make $75K. And if they aren’t already, divorce papers sitting on the floor... because the wife took all the furniture when she left. Lol!

And let’s not talk about the drivers who made $70k their first year. The ones that got 20-30 recruitment bonus, and only made $45k actually driving the entire year without going home.

Drivers that recruit, and companies that pay them to recruit. Piss me off. Even my company.

You can't net that much with your experience. I know guys who can but it's really specific specialized hauling. I can take home 23-2500 every 2 weeks depending on what runs I do, but I'm an ex O/O so I run a pretty tight ship.

As a company guy with your poop in a group 4000 is perfectly achievable doing general freight.

Or me who is content with very little. Some weeks a 50 cent bag of scotch and a 3 dollar bowl of chili is it. Still making money. The key is to be happy and joyful.

6000 net in what time frame?

It's a possibility over a month time as a company driver, been there done that Teamed with wife but eh... its all the same household.

I undwrstand your position, but I sure don't knock any driver who is recruiting. Heck, many of them are adding thousands to their annual income. No, I'm not one of them.
