    1) First off, i rescind the award for best appearing because Southeastern uses driver cameras. i had so much faith in them.

i, begrudgingly award best appearing to fed ex frt :(. i'll put it on the table: i don't like y'all. You're the main ones taking our cake (although in all fairness, i should also be mad at our own company for LETTING you take our cake, but that's another matter.) We're Bruce Lee, you're Chuck Norris. We're Washington, you're the Dallas Cowboys, We're G.Gordon Liddy, you're John Dean, We're Peter Griffin, you're the Chicken etc.

    i'll flat-butt tell you. i don't like your company.

    2) This whole thread is stupid. i apologize for even starting it. And i officially withdraw my participation in it.

UPSF has a terrible foot print (seemingly) here in Mass. A lot of shippers I picked up from while on the city board that used UPSF commented about UPSF service issues, mainly that they didn't trust their freight to arrive in one piece. It was surprisingly easy to get shippers to print a new BOL for me to take the UPSF skids on customer docks since I was already there if I asked.

If customers EVER saw how their freight was treated on the docks at UPSF, they'd never ship with them again. I shuddered everytime I saw a skid of fragile freight or TVs on the dock. It was as good as dunnage by the time it got to its destination.

    I’m glad you’re getting all the TV’s. :biggrin_25523:

Those usually come with a declared value on the BOL and we won’t haul anything declared at more than $5.00 a pound.

    Update:

R&L brought my skid of glass tile totally intact and looking like it just came off the shipper's dock. Luckily the shipper did their part and wrapped it well, too.

Driver was a cool younger dude in a straight truck with an electric pallet jack. Since they have to buy their own, it cost him $3,000, but he said it was totally worth it. He brought it up my driveway and just inside the garage door without complaint. I tipped him $20 because I always wanted to do that for a fellow LTL driver!

He said, "what's this for?" and I said, "because I know how hard your job can be and everything you deal with on a daily basis."

Anyway, it was a great experience and I'm super happy with R&L's service.

I’m not wild about those electric jacks due to the diversity of different firewood freight gets packed on. If I can’t move it with a manual jack and my trusty oak 2x4, I don’t need to be messing with it.

I just tell people to look the other way when I unload there 85inch tv - it's wider than my lift gate and so I have to like slide it/slam it from trailer onto the liftgate via the liftgate switch.

Also you're freaking insane buying a $3,000+ tv like what the hell man. Best part is 4k isn't even viable in my area because Comcast uses data caps.

I was thinking the same thing, but I didn't wanna knock his fancy toy. I know they definitely have their limitations with non-standard skids.
