I own a Kenworth T680 that my company bought from Werner 6 months ago and I don’t know how to idle at high RPM’s.
I’ve tried to turn ON the cruise control and than SET button but is not working it stays at 700 RPM’s. Tried also with truck and trailer breaks SET still the same..
Please help.

Ecm is probably programmed that way . You may need to visit dealer to get it raised... Werner’s policy is to save fuel they aren’t concerned with longevity of engine .

In the old days you would be at parked, idle nuetral and then turn on the crusie control, and bump the set speed and every bump you got 50 RPM. Max for me was 1500. bump. And it will hold it all night or until it runs out of fuel if need be in cold weather like this.

Also, make sure your clutch pedal position sensor isn't preventing you from idling up.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
It's probably a werner spec. You can have the ecm stripped of passwords werner may have set and have the computer opened up. Don't know what the cost is these days. I paid $150 on a 05 w900 at a cummins shop in Dallas. They ran a password software to delete the password. Then they reflashed the ecm. There was no governor anything after that.
Best money you'll ever spend. More power and better economy having that thing run on it's own parameters instead of company parameters.Dexterr and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
I think this is a silly post, jam a stick on the pedal, not rocket science,,,

Looks like Werner took off that option. If you’re a company driver then don’t worry about it they want to ruin their truck fine.

You may have to push the throttle down to your desired rpm then hit the set button.
