I turned the top bunk into a kitchen. Fridge a freezer. Grill, toaster, microwave coffee maker toaster oven. Cutting board in the middle. Everything locked into place and secured.
Comfort on the road, what has made it easier for you?

So I’m borrowing this man’s post as an example. What follows is NOT any rebuttal.
But the next step.
First, the distractions of modern society are inauthentic. In the end. Dead. Tv, games, etc. Destructive.
One turns a corner when all the time alone turns one to the desire for learning. Because the distractions become shallow.
It’s not either/or. But there will be longer spaces where something real is wanted.
Sailors with scrimshaw. Lighthouse keepers and a Spanish galleon in a magnum wine bottle.
Won’t much matter just what. But it’ll be something caught your interest once upon a time.
Make a note of that feeling. And on another day do a little research. A language. Another trade. A skill.
Follow up. It’s just you & you. No one else to please on how your mind is occupied.
But first there has to be a mind to occupy. “Mind” is body & soul. Brain is just an address.
For me it’s been the steps towards Amateur Radio. An answered prayer my son home on rotation out of Middle East has also signed on.
Has taken YEARS to get to this point (wanting to study & take tests). But CB ALWAYS an interest.
Have something to do. Make a 34 on the road really worthwhile.
“Comfort” is also that I’m a man, and have (can develop) interests in common with other men. To share what I learn, and to learn from those who will share.
All the rest is enjoyable. But learning turns being a truck driver into almost a privilege.
An hour or two. Here, or there. -

Number two is a quality mattress. Mine is a five hundred dollar foam mattress by Serta topped with a memory foam mattress topper from Walmart. Naturally, my pillow is also memory foam. Surprise. Sleeping with all this foam reduces the severity of vibration tremendously.
Having a mattress is also nifty for covering those hard-as-bricks beds at most motels.
Those are my two cozy suggestions. -
I dealt with Opti Idle for about 2 years, Works great during colder months because the truck would only startup if oil temp got really cold or battery was at 12.5v and run for two hours then shut down. During warm months it was hell, the temp range was set at 90deg meaning if was 89.9deg out the truck would start stop start stop start stop start stop start stop start stop start stop start stop start stop. If you didn't have the a/c blasting while it was running it'll shut down in 45min if the temp you set isnt reached the truck will go into this cycle of 15min run time then shut down for 15min then start then stop then start then stop. I did have tricks to override but those were pain too.
Solution In my opinion is a good Apu.
I usually do paperwork while being unloaded and once parked at a Truck stop I transflow then tripak in envelope.
Having a good inverter 2,000w worked well with TV,Coffee maker, crocPot, microwave but run one of them at a time or you'll have to hunt down a inline fuse.
Espar heater was awesome for me, I would stay warm even in neg deg weather.
Most important tip is I carry a small zipper bathroom travel bag with ziplock bags of Clorox cleanup wipes and butt wipes. There are grown ### adults that poo & pee everywhere so Clorox helps. Butt wipes are a luxury cause the thin sand paper they have in them stalls is torture. Also "check before you sit"to be assured there are rolls in the dispenser.
If all else fails you can use the 3 sea shells.
