So what's the deal with trucks driving right up on other drivers leaving no space?

    Man, I LOVE this topic.

Hit the major metros or a heavy truck traffic corridor with 50-60/mph traffic.

And, wait, there it comes over the CB now!!

“You slow trucks need to get out of the hammer lane”.

    Time for an on-air interview:

1). “Hey, new guy complaining about a slow pass, you’re tailgating, aren’t you!”

2). “Hey, new guy who failed to trip plan, its tailgating ANY time under 200’. And that is still too close except a few seconds”.

3). “Hey, DUMB new guy, speed is according to conditions, not your tiny dick”.

4). “Hey, STUPID new guy, yesterday, how many times did you cancel cruise and DROP SPEED 10-mph to get a slow pass around you?”

5). “Hey, bag-of-hammers-stupid, don’t EVER tell anyone you’re a truck driver. You don’t care about your bosses equipment & freight; or his or your safety rating; you don’t give a whack about your family or mine”.

(If they’re Johnny Baaaddd, tell ‘em they might survive the accident they cause, but they won’t live much past that).

    1:1 relationship between these:

    A) Can’t plan = Other traffics fault

B). Never courteous = But expects courtesy.

“Hey, ballpeen-brain, how many times TODAY have you thanked another driver ON AIR for their courtesy to you?”

So, remember, boys, GO AFTER THE CAUSES, not the symptoms.

And if your Radio don’t get out (AND you can’t hear), you’ll never realize your dream of being Hall Monitor, and getting moved up to Safety Patrol:

IF that transceiver can hear a fly fart at 20-miles, NOW you can start to witness to a boy on 19 never exposed to Christianity.

(Don’t be certain I’m being serious or sarcastic. Sin, and Sinner. Depends how it rolls that day. But this IS the last nail in the hammer-lane #####ing coffin).

Yeah, brother, you got two more grey hairs. I started cross-continent trips as a child in 1962.

He isn’t citing “safety” in terms of gear (we had to pass laws for the stupids to use it; the rest of us were), or that “dispute” was more easily handled,

“High trust” means co-operation between strangers.

Those strangers were always men, always of European extraction, and — as with my father & grandfather — stories of military life and learning to get along could be funny. Until the artillery shells flew.

With the interwar advent of national roads and cars/trucks capable of their use, war experience was a handy touchstone.

The test of will they break law or custom if they don’t get caught didn’t matter. Didn’t need much in the way of locks.

Not today. 100-million+ who not only refuse to pay their own way, but only a fool would ever believe any of them honest. Lie, cheat, steal extends to every action.

It’s expected. Where they come from.

Just watch for them in the mirrors as they stay in the left lane. And as they come up, move over into that lane. Partially.

I run the I-5 on the west coast most of the time, and this is a daily occurrence. I'd say that 90% of the time the truck tail gating me is a Volvo, has a red maple leaf somewhere on the truck, and the driver has a dark tan.

    Don’t need a maple leaf.

When you’re walking across the fuel line, be friendly like me.

Is their new American name Bobby or Tommy?

Did they join the Methodist or the Baptist Church?

Do their wives & daughters wear short, short-shorts and are saving for tattoos?

In short, are they Americans or not?

If not willing to fit in, why are they here?

Not one single taxpayer dollar has been spent on them, directly or indirectly, right? No tax or finance help?

Their tax returns and bank records are spotless, right. Always ready for audit? Every dollar documented?

No kickbacks or other inducements right (who else hauls produce but Sikhs?). I’m sure it’s all clean as a dogs tongue.

No relative of theirs receives or has received any form of gov assistance, right? “Why, new-Bobby you’d be embarrassed to have your new country pay for your decrepit parents medical bills after they arrive, wouldn’t ya?”

And (best of all) You never did travel back to the old country to see relatives, right?. The country from which you claimed asylum? I read that’s popular to do. But not you.

    That’s the lie — cheat — steal.

Never be surprised either at innate lack of driving skill (Visuo-spatial) that makes them dangerous AND cannot be corrected.

Never be surprised at tail-gating or passing from the shoulder.

No evasive skills as it’s also time/distance. Nail Brakes is all they have. Another reason traffic backs up worse for road problems. Two lanes away and they slow to 35. Backs up every metro in country.

Of course, everyone’s seen that the vehicle accident fatality rate is going back up. (Can’t imagine why).

Illegals have murdered 35,000-Americans the past 20-years . . just add it in.

The species you speak of are known as the "YUBA CITY PISS BOMBERS" they have taken over the I5/US97 corridors.

People do what they want even if it doesn’t make sense or is safe. Nothing you can do about it.

Just don’t get that close to the vehicle in front of you and if someone is tailgating you, let off the fuel a bit. I will also take longer to come to a stop so I don’t get rear ended.

i think the anonymity of cars propels the lack of courtesy. in my opinion, very similar to social media and internet forums. you can do whatever as long as no one can directly identify you.

Absolutely true. Boy as soon as they know who you drive for and what you look like the haters want to bury you.

Could it be that they are using the Peloton System? Computerized drafting that offers an incredible 4% fuel savings?
