Fedex Freight, I recommend them even if you are a newer driver.

Fedex Freight is the 3rd LTL I’ve worked for in my driving career and if I leave this company it will be to get out of driving all together. I think it varies on your terminal too and it’s it’s a hub of end of line. I work out of a small service center. 8 road drivers and 13 city drivers. No real complaints.

so they look back 5 on driving record
    look at your DAC?
how far do they look at job history if starting with no experience?
do they just call old employers or ask for w-2's, paystubs?

If you have no experience as a driver they will put you in the program ( cdl driver apprentice ) then you gotta do good on that. All i did was apply and since i didnt have a year of experience i had to get on the program as well. Still waiting for 2 drivers ahead of me though to finish up.

They tend to finish up the background stuff after your hired. They came to me with some questions about verification from a past employer about 2 months after I started. Good thing I save paystubs for a while but a w2 would of been acceptable too.

I am wanting to know how far back with fedex that I have to go with work history, last year and half working at a warehouse, but I dont want them to know I am leaving, have w2s and check stubs. before that I dont have my w2s but owner of company would sign or talk to whoever and give me a great revue. I am just trying to get all my ducks in a row

FedEx Freight is a great job, They are top dog in the LTL world right now (until Amazon get into the freight biz, but that's a story for a later time).

I worked there for 3 years but I left. Why? Too much corporate BS. You have to be VERY careful what you say and do there. A friend of mine had 20 years in at Freight, told a joke one day to one to a lady customer he'd known since childhood which was a little raunchy but all in good fun. Someone else overheard it and called FedEx and he was FIRED on the spot. No appeal, no warning, he was brought into the TM's office the next day and escorted off the property. His friend he told the joke to even tried to call FedEx to try and get his job back and they said no.

Another guy had 15 years in. Was at a dock and he had to pee really bad but there was no bathroom available so he took a whizz on the tandems between two trailers. Someone saw it called FedEx and he was fired on the spot as well. Exact same thing happened to a guy at the outfit I'm with now he just got a warning and the TM laughed about it and told him just don't do it again.

If/when things slow down, you'll starve as a bottom man there. They sometimes overhire and then cut your hours so you'll quit.

Like I said, it's a great job but be VERY careful how you handle yourself and save your money. Good luck !!
