Offered petco dedicated start time 1 to 4 pm window and said day shift did exist. Paid by the mile and 18 bucks per stop.
    Vs
No touch freight driving sleeper tractor drop n hook running 2 runs from Fontana to San Pedro “thinking this is at the ports” not sure. Pay is a set flat rate so 230.00 a day. This is for one of the mega carriers. The recruiter was saying that eventually they could get me out over the road etc and that kinda through me off because I was applying for local driving plus It’s in a sleeper truck which raised concern that it will be doing local work. I hope some of you California drivers can give me some insight. Im looking to keep it simple.

JB is the petco account plus they said a day petco shift does exist just not available. But the drop n hook sounds good because the dm told me it’s two runs a day for that flat pay. But Im thinking how can you just do 2 runs and it fills up your 10 hours? Doesn’t make sense. I feel like I’d be done in like 4 hours. Note the physical work I don’t mind at all. I just don’t want to be used and abused for the 12 plus hours a day.

Those two runs they're accounting for traffic. It can take 3-4 hours to make that run each way depending on the time of day.

    Encom and Omega1 Thank this.

Making two runs from Fontana to San Pedro will take you more than four hours. If you’re picking up at the port then god help you. Ten hours is being optimistic.

Take the petco run. You'll be working into the night easier for you to get in and get out of those shopping centers. Plus when you get off no traffic going home

Running from Fontana to San Pedro twice a day sounds like a nightmare. I'd stay clear of that and I was a SoCal driver.

What are the petco stops like? If you’re bumping a dock and pulling pallets off it doesn’t seem too bad (assuming you get decent miles).

It’s 60/40 dock/no dock and some are front door delivery. But I was assured they would have me in a pup for front door.

Yeah it stated twic card but I don’t need one to be hired so I’m skeptical about that as well. I feel the exercise and dedicated petco route looks better. My 1st year I put in trucking was ltl touch freight and I didn’t mind it but I didn’t like having to go to new places everyday or getting sent to Otay Mesa at 5:30 pm when I’m making my way back to Fontana from San Diego
