Hi Im Andrew i live in Delaware. Im looking to make extra money for now on weekends. My thought was to go rent a straight truck from a local company grab loads and hopefully make money all local round delaware. Do i need my own icc or dot number...and how the hell to do it all ...step by step

If it's in-state you might not need a number, but It's also likely rental companies won't rent CDL equipment to you. Insurance won't be worth getting for 2 days a week, and the rental companies won't touch you without it.

By the time you book your load, drive to the rental, pickup equipment, do the job, drop off the gear and go home I doubt you're going to feel like it was worth the $$. loadboard freight is TIGHT on profit to begin with.

If you're talking underCDL and you have some direct customers you may be able to make a dollar.

There’s other weekend hustles, that are less overhead. A good pick up truck with a trailer doing clean ups taken to the dump. Leaving trailer and picking up later. Charge rent by the day and dump it when you have time
