2 of my good buddies haul fuel now. One started a year ago and the other a few mos at the same company. They love it. Good pay, home every night. One of them always calls me on holidays to crow that he's making like $600 on those days because no one else wants to work ;-)

I completely agree, I seen a statistic where 8/10 major accidents involving a fuel truck thre driver passed away. I basically drive like my life depended on it.

Gas stations, trucking yards that have on site fuel and the oil field.

You'll be fine. Considering how much fuel travels our roads, compared to the mishaps, it's a pretty safe deal. Fuel haulers always commanded my utmost respect, especially now that I live in Colorado, where these tankers go in the mountains, hanging iron and everything, is outrageous. I hauled one(1) load of gasoline in my entire career, I was squeezing the color out of the steering wheel, and knew right away, it wasn't for me, even though, tanker is the best gig, by far. I've had non-fuel tanker jobs that were great. Good luck.

Tips? Just put the right amount of the right stuff where it's supposed to be and don't run over anything.
And when in doubt, double check.
