That's some good pay right there. I'm not close to that. This company gave me a chance to learn though so I'll take the pay for what it is.

My trainer always tells me we are the only trucking job that has to be 100% accurate all the time.

Your trainer is right. Never get in a hurry or assume anything. There aren't any do-overs.
As far as the driving goes, when I drove tanker for PIE we had a sign in the driver's room..."Tanker drivers don't have accidents, tanker drivers have disasters".
    True then, true now.

Google says thats south africa and it looks like there is a problem with the equipment. I think at the beginning you can see him pressing in the brake interlock on the rear vapor connection perhaps to open the internal valve. Then when he lets it go the truck starts to roll. So the brakes were probably set but then got released when he let go of the interlock. That's my theory anyway I'm not familiar with that type of equipment.

Yes summer is way better closer to $1800 -$2k per week , winter $1000-$1500 per week, running your but off. I love fuel hauling way better than OTR.

Unfortunately, one of their co-workers was killed a couple of mos ago. He hit a full grown bull in the middle of the night. The thing was black, standing right in his lane, poor guy never had chance.

If I were that guy, I'd go after those bozos who cut me off to exit right because they don't know how near their desired exit is.

And people think modern man is smarter than man from ancient times.

    Ha!

I'm in week 3 of training. I'm starting to get real bored with every trainer I ride with has their own way of doing things and I have to learn it then change when I get a different trainer. This company really needs to realize one trainer the whole process=better training.

I've been hauling milk for about 6 years now and I'm waiting to see if "it's a go" at this Pilot gig in Santa Rosa NM I applied to. Set hours each night, awesome and consistent pay, and of course you're running back and forth between the same spot for the most part.

Milk loading got too tedious for me so I switched over to shuttling. After three years at the current company, they're kind of threatening me that I'll be put back on loading due to consistent, "short staffing"(my typical response being, 'who isn't around here?').

If it doesn't go through, I've also got a strict, shuttle job lined up elsewhere in town. But still, having this hazmat in my pocket and not being given the chance to use it is making me antsy.
