Heather and larson both freak me out when the weather gets bad. Larson especially, nice and easy to pile up at that bridge

well....when you can't read or understand ENGLISH...
"BRAKE CHECK" has no relevance. ....
got the light to report a few weeks at the WB Kamloops scale , everything was good to go and as I'm getting all my paperwork back next to me was a "new canadian "
(notice how politically correct that reference was)
    - that couldn't communicate with the DOT officer and was trying to say he needed an interpreter to answer the questions.
mr DOT was understandbly a little bent out of shape but just sent him on up the hill in his brand new cascadia...
WOW...going to take a politician's wife or kids death or severe injury to even get a conversation started about proper licensing with ANY new drivers...
its all two feet & a heartbeat and send 'em over the hill...
if there's a wreck...no problem just dissolve that company and open another one under a new #
used to love the challenges of BC in winter - now its cringe and hope for the best on every curve when the lane markings are covered in snow...!!
    my 2cents - shiny side up !
    out.....

Fresh off the boat types are required to have Level 4 English proficiency to drive trucks. I'd hate to think what a level 1 is.

And yes, DOT and cops let them off easy.

One time I was driving home in my pickup (Chilliwack BC), I saw a mini bus swing into the right lane beside him (no signal) and side swipe a car. The bus went back into his lane and then turned right from the middle lane again no signal. The guy in the car had pulled over. I stopped and told him I saw everything. I knew the road that the bus turned on had no exit. So I told him to follow me and we'll catch up with the moron. Yep, the bus had pulled over and a herd of farm workers were getting out. Funny, his front steer had hopped the curb. Anyway, the baboo couldn't speak any English, but one of his passengers did. I demanded to see his registration and license. He freaking didn't have either!!! Of course the driver started jabbering on his phone, to I assume his boss. The guy that had been hit called the cops. So, the cop shows up. We both explain the accident, and told him that the driver produced no papers or license. The cop then talks to the driver. Baboo boy suddenly knew some English after all. The cop then told the guy that had been hit to just call ICBC and they'll take care of it. The cop was just about to drive away when I stopped him and told him I that I had a commercial license myself, and that I would be crucified if I didn't carry my license or paperwork. And that the driver of the mini bus was legally required to have an unrestricted class 4 to be able to drive the bus with passengers on board, and that is considered to be a commercial license in BC. I reminded him that it was a hit and run. The cop then states that they have different customs and regulations over there, and that we have to go easy on them here because of that. I started blowing a few gaskets, but then realized I was the one about to get busted so I let him drive away.

Blowing a stop sign and failing to stop at a brake check are two very different things.
