The code first appeared Tuesday. Got it over to MHC in Topeka, KS and the diagnosed it overnight. Cummins advised to change the def pump and the decompisition tube. That cost me 4800. 50 miles later the code reappears. MHC says to bring it back. They keep overnight and decide the doser injector is bad. Replace that and charge me another 1700. 150 mile later and code has reappeared. I'm losing my cool over this situation. Any suggestions? 2016 cpl 2350 isx 450 hp

Did they verify DEF concentration and NOx sensor operation?

Check the DEF tank and pickup sock for debris. Sometimes dirt or debris can settle to the bottom. Once you start bouncing down the road again debris are then picked back up and restricts the pump inlet of DEF causing low pressure. Also check the DEF tank vent is not blocked.

Tuesday MHC in Topeka ran diagnostics. They relayed the info to Cummins and was advised to change pump, filters, & decomposition tube. $4,800.00. 100 miles later code reappears. Return to MHC Topeka and they diagnose again. This time they replace the dozer injector and charge $2156.00. The next morning the code reappeared. Frustrated with MHC, I take the truck to Cummins in Wichita. They diagnose and tell me the nox sensors are bad. They replace them for $1917.00. Truck gets to St. Louis this morning and code pops up again. I’m almost 9k into this and they are just throwing #### against the wall hoping something sticks.

The code is for low DEF pressure. Did they check for any kinked lines or restrictions? Line heater may not be working and fluid is freezing inside the line to cause this, then once in the shop, the ice melts and everything tests fine.

    Wheeljack Thanks this.

That’s what I was thinking, but I’ve been told the heater would throw a code

Open circuit will, but if the circuit has continuity but just isn't working properly, you will get the freezing. Just something to look into. Some kind of blockage is your problem I believe.

What kind of temperatures have you been running in? Are you using a winter front?
    Found this on justanswer.

SPN 4334 FMI 18 is not a low def pressure code.

Met my driver in St. Louis with my spare truck today. On the way back to Memphis, it threw the code 3 separate times and went away on its on. Temps were ranging from 34-41 during this time. I'm ruling out the line freezing now.
