Where is the money in trucking?

Tankers seem less affected than the rest of the industry but they have slowed some . Hopper bottoms with ag products are still running strong but their rates were always low . Things are picking up for hotshotters that have established a good customer base .

 

i have seen more pickups with cars or coils ETC on them in the last 6 Mo then the whole rest of the 2 years i have been out here.

 

I have a friend in Alabama running 3 hotshot trucks and busy enough to be turning down loads . He's just finishing up the paperwork to be a Department Of Defense Contractor . There's money out there if you know how to hustle .

 

i'd say cocaine. theres steady freight from the us border headed in all directions. pays well also.

 

this is true, and I've heard you can back haul small arms to mexico.

what a gig... two high paying deals combined, drug trafficer and arms dealer... wouldn't that make momma proud...

then there's the early retirement program... 3 hots and a cot, stable address... free medical ect...

Best money in trucking today is in being a broker, you charge 2009 rates but you only pay 1980 rates to the driver and keep all the rest

 

I found good money in trucking,....But then again I was lucky enough to get hired at UPS Freight,......I am done trying to own a truck...
