    Hello everyone . . .
    Anthony here .
I just got myself the connex 4600 turbo
Got my antenna up in my tree about 85 feet put it this way, with just the radio , I talk clear across long Island from end to end no problem.
And I'm dead in the middle pretty much .
That radio got LOUD LOUD AUDIO!!
I never needed much features in a radio.
I just wanna turn it on and " Know"everyone hears me.
Now don't go tryin to compare any Cobra Radio to A Connex .
Pure AM Audio quality is what you're paying for .
Nothing more nothing less . .
You pay to Be Crystal Clear and LOUD as HELL
And that you get right out of the box.
You don't even need to crank this baby up.
It's all about the swing here !
As far as being illegal. . .
How many truckers ya see out there with those lil boxes on top of the radios ?
I rather have it all in a nice little neat package , all in the radio .
All ya need to be heard .
It cost to be the boss !

The problem here is that even out of the box the signal is dirty. People on your channel can't hear it but folk on other frequencies can. When you start interfering with licensed services, Ham, TV, Public Service, and you do already, It is jsut a matter of time, you'll get somebodies attention and that will be that. The FCC are nice guys tho-. First they'll send you a warning notice and give you a few days to call them.

Your Antron in the air 85 feet, they should be able to hear you in PA. LOL

Well, so far so good, the thing has been here for about a year and no-one has said a word about it to me .
I have asked my neighbors if they hear anything , everyone says they don't hear a thing and no-one around me is being bothered .
Besides, before they decide to make an example out of me , they have about 10 million other people who they can get to first .
I have heard all the stories about the FCC, I know about the fines and how they will confiscate all my equipment .
What would life be without it's little trials and triibulations anyway ?
    Kinda boring I suppose .

Wow Am I ever glad I saw this thread, I was just about to order one of those radios with the idea that if I got a ham license that it would be legal. I guess that I will stick to my Cobra 29 and have it tuned, any suggestions on a good radio shop near Denver? or I could mail it somewhere. Also, any Ideas on mic's? Do power mics or noise canceling help?

Worldwide? Naw, he's smallfry with a local radio. I'll bet I can talk WorldWide with 5 Watts and a wire thrown in a tree for an antenna.

It's cheap and easy to be the Boss. Only a radio idiot would throw that kind of money into a single band slush box like that radio.
