Yes perfectly legal in Canada and US.Canada allows up to 285 now as long as your overall length doesn't exceed 75 ft.Some provinces still require an annual permit though.

    Zekria99 Thanks this.

Thanks for that. I called MB scale they have told me I would need a permit to drive there so I was thinking majority of the provinces and states would require that.

Oh good to know I thought as well but I wanted to get a second opinion. I read somewhere anything more then 244 wb is not permitted on Canadian roads but I might be wrong. Thanks

Eh I just went threw this when I specd out a new truck you can't be over 23 meters 75 ft 5 inch long in Canada that's front bumper to the back of the trailer unless your pulling B trains than there's different rulles so if its 260 wheel base with a set back front axle you will be way over length if it's set forward I still think it would be to long with a 53 ft trailer. Now as far as wheelbase goes 244 inch was the max until a fue years ago now Ontario let you go up to 283 if it's a 2005 or newer truck they say it's to give you more frame space for the emmission junk dpf def but you still can't be over 23 m long you would be stuck pulling a 48 ft trailer As far as I could find all the western provinces 244 inch is the max I wouldn't buy a truck with any more. For me I ordered a western star 5700xe and with the setback front axle pulling a 53 ft trailer i ordered a 240 wheel base to keep it under 23 meters

Ya don't buy that one stay under 244 and if it's a set back axle truck you would stay under 240 and you would be fine. The only exception to the 23 meter rull is they allow you to got over for aroedynanic devices like that big fin you see on the back of some trailers

    Zekria99 Thanks this.

You will want to stay under 240 inches here in the states. Generally overall length is 70 feet maybe a little more.

That extra two feet will hurt you something bad in some of our produce warehouses. The only saving grace is if it has a setback axle. Maybe.

Some of our roads like US 15 on the east coast which is fabulous for trucking when 95 is all effed up (Similar to your Toronto) restricts down to 65 feet and 96 inch wide in many areas.

That 260 tractor would probably light your burners, but you want to be at whatever possible down to 240 or less if you plan on coming here into the east of the Mississippi.
