Seems excessive, I idle just about every night that it’s above 60 degrees and have 18k hours at 602k miles
2015 T680 low mileage concern? Would you take a chance on it?

That’s an insane number of hours for that many miles. I have 28.5k on mine with 1008000 miles. I idle a lot and run a pto a quarter of the day. Let’s say it was built 1/1/14 and went out of service the end of 12/31/18. 26k hours/ 4 years= 6.5k/year = 17.8 hours per day every single day of the year for 4 years.

They're all sold anyway. If I'm lucky I might get 1.

Some basic math:
24 hours x 365 days x 3 years = 26,280 hours. That truck must have been running 18 to 20 hours every day to see those numbers. I could see it being possible if the trucks ran locally, 2 shifts a day. Thing I think a lot of people lose sight of is that there are other applications besides OTR. Not every truck drop and hooks and then hits the highway for 600 miles every day.
IMO any engine pushing 25k hours with no major work is due for it soon.Dino soar and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
Yeah too many hours for me. Also I'd prefer a Detroit engine because I'm familiar with them.
Is there a Detroit number then I can call with the serial engine number to find out warranty work that has been done?
I called my local penn Detroit shop but they had switched computer systems and cannot access any warranty info on a Detroit engine I'm looking at -
My 06 has over 1.1 million miles and has 25500 hrs on it . Something seems off with the hours. 200k mi @ 26k hrs is an avg of 7.7mph.

I looked into a warranty directly through Detroit ( I'm going to buy a frieghtliner/ Detroit) could not get ahold of Detroit directly but was told I cant get an extended warranty like cummins offers bc I'd be the second owner of truck
Anyone here confirm this? -
26K is just way too much. That's might as well be a million mile engine, or worse. Especially if it's not set at proper idle RPM etc.
Another thought, if that truck sat that long then no wonder the company owner went bust. Not moving freight.
