Recently received at Potek 2000w inverter. Came w/ 4 (2 red, 2 blk) battery cables and a ground wire. My question is, do I need to use all 4 cables or is 2 sufficient? And if I must use all 4, do I hook all 4 to 1 battery or 2 separate batteries. Thanks for any help!

You should use both, especially if you plan on using your inverter at max capacity for extended periods of time. I've found the cables that most companies send with inverters tend to be to short to get to the batteries and also not of great quality. If that's the case I'd suggest measuring the length you need them to be and getting some 2 or 0 gauge battery/alternator cable and soldering some ends on and running those.

I would only hook to one, so I could put a fuse between the battery terminal and the cable.

I would hook the positive cable to one side of the battery bank and the negative cable to the other side of the battery bank that way when you're kicking the inverter in the but it pulls the load evenly and doesn't try to abnormally drain one battery in the bank. But with only 2,000 Watts you might be okay just hooking to one battery for peace of mind I would do it the other way.

If all your batterries are hooked up in parallel and not seperated into two banks than it won't matter which posts you use. And definitely use a breaker or fuse in line on the positive cable.

1 set (red and black) on battery #1 and the other set on battery #4 or red on #1 and #4 and black on #2 and #3. this will make sure it's using all 4 batteries
minimum 150 amp fuse on each red
