If you are driving directly into wind, you are likely correct that downforce will help keep you planted.

But roads curve. Wind shifts. Gusts happen.

If you get hit on the side by wind, then being a bit lower to the ground actually means MORE danger of being flipped, because there is slightly less room to allow wind to pass under the trailer, rather than pushing on the side.

    PE_T and Radman Thank this.

Driving a truck is the deadliest occupation in United States, and high winds are a serious extra hazard i've seen many wind related tragedies , mostly on western roads USA,Canada but also in tornadoes/ storms.
    Most Deadly Occupation: Truck Driver

These are the 9 deadliest jobs in the United States—and here’s how much they pay

The simple fact you are asking question could be just a fear of unknown,(we all go through this and push higher our risk taking limits) need an advice ,insurance , keep watching the weather ahead ,NOAA wind warning maps is excellent as x1Heavy mentioned above and you'll be fine., our mind needs facts.
In the same time, don't ignore your intuition in this job, its our 6th sense, a sense of danger, a low frequency inner voice a premonition telling you not to do certain things , connected to our timeless consciousness warning us of future events;, as i mentioned above, this is not a safe office job. I still see many old school trucker having a cross or bible verse printed on their trucks, they know why. I stopped the truck for a day many times after having a terrible dream and read my Holly Bible i have in my truck for over 20 years and dropped trailer in first yard quit a job for being pushed to take a shorter hazardous, risky route, just for company to save few $. It's your life, you should decide not your DM, broker , safe wind speed study or weather forecast.

    great post ^

Growing up I always heard the phrase "a woman's intuition" which caused me to assume that I didn't have any intuition. It turns out that all people can access intuition, which is the ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning.

Put another way, it's "trusting our gut."
