I don't get the price peaks, but I dont have to deal with the prices when they fall either.KB3MMX Thanks this. -
As for unsecured loans? Good luck doing that in the first 5 years as an immigrant. I've been here 3 years, have 8 payments left on a truck I paid $64k for and will own it free and clear. That $64k will have taken 20 months. Has it been easy? Nope far from it. No grants, no u secured loans. Hell I've barely got $4k available on several credit cards. But my credit score is close to 700, I've never missed a payment of any description for a credit card, the car, phones or the truck. Second truck will be coming in a few months when Im under 6 payments left.
The reason that most immigrants have stuff they own outright? Because we have no choice but to work our arses off to pay our bills, because if we fail. We have nothing to fall back on as we aren't entitled to government assistance if we don't have a job..... -
Appears that every where is the same , a less is a hot load . I drove about 900 miles to get to north of Cali for a little bit more than 3.00 per mile on a reefer load 1 pick 3 deliveries and I’m going back for 2.00 per mile on a dry load 1 pick 1 drop.
I’m going to wait at home until I get a decent rate to go out again .KB3MMX and Farmerbob1 Thank this. -

Speaking of which, when I hit my next 34 break I need to tabulate actual numbers on how much I am paying per gallon through Crete, and drop it in my thread.
More than one data point, that is. We already saw that in at least one case, Crete was getting 60 cents off cash price per gallon in PA, which was better than any o/o responding to the thread was willing to try to claim. -
Can you recommend a good one?

Unless Swift has some sort of controlling contract stipulations(which is what the law is designed to prevent), then they are going to lose drivers that they help get their authority. Once the drivers realize what other brokerages are paying, they'll probably move, especially considering the additional burdens and cost of being independent.
The alternative is for Swift to pay contractors more money.
This flood of trucks on the market is probably going to have a short term negative effect on the spot market.Last edited: Feb 28, 2019
