It's TONU all the way. What we get for that will be interesting to find out though. That was a needless 450 mile deadhead and an entire day wasted at the port, plus 4 days of me sitting around staring at the 10 freeway in Ontario.

So if I fully understand, you finished up empty in Santa Rosa, CA.

What about this load from LB, was so worth while to take?

Good question. One that I can't answer. I'm not the owner, I'm just the driver. I'll let you know as soon as I do though...

    cke Thanks this.

Just seems like a deadhead like that must be for a reason.
Not something I would care for.

Hopefully whoever you drive for takes care of you for your time, but whatever broker this load was booked through doesn't really care about you sitting and they'll try to figure out a way to pay as little as possible.

I know it's too late now but there's a lot of lumber coming out of Ukiah. It doesn't pay the greatest but it might have been the better choice in this case.

Why don’t you just send him to Ft Bragg or Happy Camp ...really treat him to some local hospitality

cke, PoleCrusher and stwik Thank this.

Lots of reasonable paying freight around that area.
Not a lot of empty miles out, 50 to 75 maybe a few times, usually less.

    cke Thanks this.

He could sure see some pretty country that way but he couldn't load any lumber. No more mills in either place and that's a darn shame.
Several little towns like Hyapom, Covelo, Elk Creek, Hayfork, Sloat, Greenville, Crescent Mills, and several others where the mills shut down are basically shadows of what they once were. Sad to see.

Been since the early 90’s since I have loaded lumber up that way.
