Some felonies.... Lmfao. As in there's a list of them?
Multiple felonies I wouldn't even bother trying.
You're better off to find something else.

If you still want to try here's a list
Trucking companies that hire felons with convictions that are 10 years old or more:

Swift Transportation (also offers truck driver training)
    J.B. Hunt
    Shaffer Trucking
    TMC Transport
    Crete Carrier
    Dick Lavy Trucking
    CR England
Celadon (also offers truck driver training)
    Dutch Maid Logistics
Hunt Transportation (Must have 12 months experience)
JBS Carriers (must have 12 months experience)

It’s pretty crazy some people are still posting on this. So an almost 4 year update... for the last 8 months Ive been working for a small LTL company in my home town right now driving straight trucks and I’m actually in the process of learning to get my class A. I came to a point where I needed to let my record age more. But then then life happened so as of right now I can’t do OTR and was lucky to find this job.

DK1290, you’re going to have a lot of truthful advice and a lot of nay sayers here. I have a felony record and I paid my way for my CDL training and started out with my own truck, trailer and MC authority to gain a little experience for my first year. You will only know by applying who will accept or deny you. There’s going to be people up on their high horse telling you that you don’t have a chance. That is wrong wrong wrong. I find even many of my coworkers think they are something special because they have a clean record, I honestly do not care, they are equal and no better than me or you. I’ve worked for a few companies, small and large. Been driving with my CDL A for over 5 years now. Many will hire you, don’t worry about it. You just have to apply and keep your driving record decent. The ones that won’t, forget about them, their loss. Keep on moving along and filling out applications. Trucking is not space travel, even though some act like it is lol.

x1 I don't normally criticize you when you post. However, I have to with this. What the author here has done is mix a whole bunch of things into one package and titled it things that ((((May)))) prevent you from getting a CDL. This is a commercial site and I always caution against using these sites.

This information is good, but formatted wrong. Example. The first one does not tell us if you are driving a CDL required vehicle or not. If you were you had a CDL and lost it. The next 2 also extend to a regular drivers license. Those last 7 are so out there I can't make any sense of them. I'm guessing the author has mixed them up with some of the TSA restrictions when it comes to hazmat and getting a TWIC.

Bottom line is part 383 contains no such list. The only list that 383 points back to is 49 USC 30304 (a) (3)

    (a) Individuals covered. --As soon as practicable, the chief driver licensing official of each participating State shall submit to the Secretary of Transportation a report containing the information specified by subsection (b) of this section for each individual--

    (1)  who is denied a motor vehicle operator's license by that State for cause;

    (2)  whose motor vehicle operator's license is revoked, suspended, or canceled by that State for cause;  or

    (3) who is convicted under the laws of that State of any of the following motor vehicle-related offenses or comparable offenses:

    (A)  operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of, or impaired by, alcohol or a controlled substance.

    (B)  a traffic violation arising in connection with a fatal traffic accident, reckless driving, or racing on the highways.

    (C)  failing to give aid or provide identification when involved in an accident resulting in death or personal injury.

    (D)  perjury or knowingly making a false affidavit or statement to officials about activities governed by a law or regulation on the operation of a motor vehicle.

I know people that have been convicted of Murder, Extortion, and Arson that are driving a truck.

Thank you for the reminding. I agree with you. I do not do legalese that well but I understood what you posted and the old green book needs to be replace. I still have it from pre-internet era. HA... I'll find another at that Petro in NLR off 40.

You are a valued source of knowledge and yes sometimes my posts are flawed in some ways more than others.

I am forced to dispose of the last part of my post as not very good. It did not convert to english properly.

In my blacktop days we would get breakfast, fuel for everything etc at the 7-11 shop. Sometimes on a big project we approach someone who looks calloused hands rather than someone who have never left a desk. Inviting same to man the shovel. Paid cash his wages until he could organize the information. We had one in Baltimore who did a great job with the shovel, without complaint even though he has a full CDL and everthing from his previous life prior to his divorce. When the smoke cleared in the Court. the exwife got the house and vehicle leaving him shafted with nothing more than a child support that takes a disgusting precentage of wages earned.

I get side tracked very easily here. What i am tryng to say that even though so and so had such a such time in a cage and is free to do whatever. They find that they cannot hardly do anything and then choose to commit a crime serious enough to require mandatory prison time where they have been most taken care of for 10, 20 or more years. In short they have become institutionalized.

I'll leave it for here. BE safe out there.
