I have.
Quite a few times.
Funny how nighttime dispatch can kill a company...or a driver.
I got tired of nighttime dispatch taking good loads off my plate.
Wish I had just stuck it out...

I went through that with one company , so I quit.
Call dispatch at night or on weekends, and the same answer; "Uhhh, you'll have to call your regular daytime dispatcher, good bye."bentstrider83, Texas_hwy_287, fss99701 and 1 other person Thank this. -

I've finally hit the job hopping wall.
Got one job offer,after weeks of applications,and it's a Walmart,dedicated,reefer gig.
Don't have any choice but to accept it..I know from my previous reefer experience..I'm going to hate it..Mooseontheloose, bentstrider83, Texas_hwy_287 and 2 others Thank this. -
I owned a satellite business in Alaska for 14 years and was pretty successful up until bigger companies moved in and killed my profit margin. Ever since then, I've been ruined. Haven't kept the same job over a 1.5 years consecutively. I guess jobs have always come so easy to me I never had one that was worth putting up with any BS for.
Of course I'm sure that's cost me a lot financially over the years, sometimes I wish I was a little more easy going. Hell it is what it is.JoeyJunk, bentstrider83, BigDog Trucker and 2 others Thank this. -

I usually give the "Company" or the people within it rather every chance. If there is a problem and it's not fixed, I refused to be muled with that problem anymore. So I quit and eliminate it to move on. Economic losses? Ha.
If you are going to be doing this, be happy and joyful looking forward to getting empty. Maybe occasionally going home which we all know is the shortest road.
The one thing you will not have ever, is a company; that regrets having me quit. They have 50 more in orientation ready to slap into my old tractor. Poor things. I pity them.
When I got into Medicine work hauling Pharmacy drugs and kits and so on, there was absolute peace from the people in the company, even on 9-11 when we exercised a few hours waiting in a particular spot during that morning a few miles from the Customer. We eventually delivered. But no one said a word. All of my employers have had demonstrated stupid problems of all kinds with the exception of the Pharmacy ones. There was no need to quit.
Companies ground drivers in some cases to dust and gave them rope to hang themselves on to be fired or quit. Myself included. However, these companies had no value whatsoever because of their attitudes towards a problem or situation that clearly showed that you the driver (As in me) was worthless and not valued. It would be better to quit and move on.
There is never any regret in such a quit. It's usually a great loss to a willfully obtuse company to lose a good driver like myself. But again, drivers are a dime a 50- pack. As long this continues, there is no incentive for a "Bad company" to reform or do better.
Its really good when you pick up loads and deliver them in quiet, no one notices your work because you did not damage or break anything. But the minute you do, god help you if you do not then have a #### good reason for it.WeWantGreatness, bentstrider83, fss99701 and 1 other person Thank this.
