It is already going on in the southeast. The rates have really crashed, people are gobbling up 1.50 a mile freight.

Proud my stuff is paid for and my insurance is cheap. Looks like a lot of time off this winter...

Not too long ago, $1.10 a mile + Fuel Surcharge was spoken as a sucker rate. I see that the threshold now is declared on this forum @ 2 dol/mile. Quite a change in the span of a few years. Must be two things: US Dollar losing its value or this industry is becoming more lucrative.Still, @ 2 dol a mile lots of people can make a living, if they're willing to run over 80K-100K miles a year and they will. Attrition threshold I see at about 1.5 a mile - money starts to run out quickly.

Southeast is spectacular to what Dallas is trying to push. Less than dollar a mile to Minnesota. Smh

What the hell, you're better off bouncing somewhere at that rate.

People tend to believe hazmat is suppose to pay this insane amount of money per load. But truth is hazmat will pay average of $300-$500 a load more than average however this is year round, and also out of dead places, plus when you add up doing those loads 2-3 times a week it turns into 6 digits figures in the long run at the end of the year.

For example, if hazmat paid extra $300 on 4 loads during a week above other loads, that’s $1200 a week, and 4 times a week pays off your monthly brand new truck and trailer.

Most drivers think one load should pay them their house price. But most hazmat we do is for example like paint, or nail polish, etc.

Of course, they been trying to push that. Luckily for my guy I got him TVs out of there. Which pay more due to insurance.

You said dry van avg is $2.60/mile and my dispatch said $2,000 for a load to St. Paul from NOLA (1,200 mile) is a good rate.
So, who do you think is greedy here? The company I lease the truck from (MGR in Illinois) or the broker?
