Central Oregon trucking or Wylie?

    Ok looking at going to a new otr company central Oregon and Wylie are two companies I'm looking at did search on here looks like over all it's a good company on both but would like some newer opinions thanks

    I’ve been at Wylie for 5 months now, the recruiter was honest, pay is fair, and the miles are crazy.
    My two longest runs were 3500 and 3300 miles. My average run so far is 1600 miles.
    They don’t baby sit you, just expect you to be on time. They don’t put you on crazy tight delivery windows.
    No driver facing cam.

    That's a nice average run but where are you running to/from for a 3500 mile trip?
    That's like California to Nova Scotia.

    North Carolina to Vancouver. It was a wide load, so the routing made it longer. The other was from PA to Kitimat BC

    I drove for COTC for a year and a half and I don't have too much to complain about. The only real issue I had with them was the micro-management. They plan you on a fuel route and tell you how much you can get, and if you disregard that plan (which I did often because I think it's ridiculous to get 50 gals here and 50 gals there) you lose your fuel bonus for the month. If you manage to reach your mileage bonus, safety bonus, and fuel bonus, it comes out to be an extra pay check at the end of each month on top of averaging $900 - $1,200 a week. Taking home 5k-6k isn't all that bad, but you gotta ask how high when they tell you to jump. The company owner, Rick, is a really down-to-earth and genuinely nice guy, as are the other captains who run the show in the command center. If you need to take a break, ask and you shall receive, but like any other company they want you to run, but unlike some companies, they actually have the loads to KEEP you running. Their equipment is top-notch KWs with trailers that are 90% in good shape. Some are a little roughed up, but that's kind of expected with flatbed. They got long hauls and short hauls, heavy haul division is in the north-west (that pays more, but you work your butt off). If you get on the turtle train make sure you're in decent shape because you're gonna be tarping 95% of your loads unless you land yourself a roll-top. All in all, I would give them a 9 outta 10 and recommend them to anyone who likes flatbedding. Best of luck, driver.

    I drove for them for a short while. I agree, I could not stand the micro-management. I was ask why I was 1/2 hour away from the customer, I had to deliver in the morning, plenty of time to be on time. They wanted me to be at the customer and roll in without starting my clock and drop the load. I wanted to be at the truck stop to shower, shave and take a dump, their answer was be creative, WHAT! you want me to go to the bathroom in the woods, bushes, be creative so you can save an 1/2 hour from the truck stop to the customer, this is what this company is about, thats when I split.
