I am located 40 miles west of Indy. I would like to get home very frequently. I usually run 300 to 400 miles out then right back to this area. very old flatbed experience. I am looking to pull a step hauling equipment and vehicles as I dont want to tarp any more than i have to. My first question is: can you find loads for a step as easy as a flat in the midwest?

I am about ten minutes west of Indy. I am working on getting my truck and authority and from what I have seen through my investigating we are in the perfect place. Landstar has their open board and there are all kinds of loads that are available within 150 miles of Indy. Based off just what I can see on Loadstars open board I wouldn't count on getting in and straight back to Indy daily. But I can't see the entire board or DAT. It varies on tarpping though, I am planning on getting a couple of machine tarps. I am going to be getting a tridem with a wood deck.

I guess im just wondering if i could load a step as easy as a flat. I like the idea of the bigger versatility of a step.

From what I am seeing and talking to family that are long time o/o yeah you can. Adding in load levelers and you are the same as a regular flatbed.
