So, I just put new batteries in my 06 Volvo ISX Cummins, and when I start it the instrument cluster doesn't cycle, however it will start. When it starts non of my instruments are working, nor is my little display and my throttle isn't working. Any ideas what it could be? Checked all the grounds already and they all seem to be good. Everything was working great until I put the new batteries in. Also, fuse 80 and 81 don't have power, but they aren't blown.

Does it have a battery cut off switch? Those go bad.

Is that the thing on the terminal with a little red button? If so it has one and we're getting power coming out of it.

I'll look and see if I have one. You think they'll cause none of the instruments to work and the throttle not to work? The truck starts and runs, just won't accelerate.

The truck wouldn't do anything if you have a battery lockout, so you can rule that out. Are you sure you connected all the wires to the batteries it sounds like something is definitely not connected.

Everything has been checked and rechecked again. We've pulled off the cables, cleaned them all and reconnected them. We made sure power was coming from every cable that we hooked up, including the small ones. I'm beginning to think it's the ECM since two of the fuses don't have power going to them in the fuse box.

When the fuses to my ECM became a little bit oxidized, the truck ran but it ran horribly, missing at idle and the best I could do was about 1700RPM. I replaced both fuses no problem. I too, thought the ECM was bad, I was wrong.

I'll replace them just too see, but everything was working great earlier until I put new batteries in. Just put the new fuses in and it didn't fix the issue.

    baha Thanks this.
