Those rust trails are caused by loose nuts.
Boss man saw you leaving the yard like that. He/She'd make you turn around to tire shop and have em tightened down. And cleaned up.
They'll also get you pulled in to a scale for inspection.

Oil on the studs?
if the issue is the torque, the number threads don't matter, -
-
The only loose nut I see in that picture is the one that sits behind the steering wheel.

However, starting off with sarcasm quoting my post and telling me its oxidation first, then corrosion second isn't necessary. To torque those lugnuts to spec would take, what, a whole two minutes?
For someone who says they are a fleet owner and would bear a great deal of liability if that was your equipment that failed, especially a steer tire, you're certainly dismissive.Last edited: Mar 11, 2019
jamespmack and Ruthless Thank this. -
Rust trails out of the lugnuts are ceded as basics in cdl training- rust trail means stud is rusting because the nut is loose.
Basic pre trip includes hand touching each lugnut, and looking for aforementioned rust trails as to indicate a loose lugnut.Farmerbob1, singlescrewshaker, wore out and 2 others Thank this. -
