Aftermarket warrenties have a bad rep most arnt worth anything.

Blowby; when the engine is warmed up, 20 to 25 minutes, take the cap off the oil filler tube. If there is no "wind" or "puffing" then there is no blowby. If it's excessive , then the rings are bad on a cyclinder. Or something else major. Youtbe videos on it, someone has had to have posted stuff on it.

The 12.5 is better than what I got on my first truck. I had 770 credit score then. Now I'm 785. I'll pay off 54k in 26 months. I like to get ahead on things. I owe 9k. On the loan check for being able to pre pay. Many don't allow it. Mine I had to pay off principal in full. I borrowed money to pay it off and owe 9 on what I borrowed.

Obviously he hasn't. I was touching on just a few things I bet he's not thought of.

And just explain it to him...oh you mean hold his hand. Why dont we all just run his truck, pay his fuel and do all the work for him?

Honestly lots of new o/o's jumping into this industry lately has cause a lot of the issues we have, like rates not being even better because of those guys out there that have a huge truck payment they have to make or they run some crap ### truck and they continue taking low paying freight driving rates down. Just more thinking "all I gotta do is buy a truck, haul freight and make lots of $".

I enjoy helping people and there are times when I need help, but honestly I or any of us don't need any extra competition.

Believe me I don’t mind everyone hitting him with the truth. I wish I would have been told all about the stress & headaches you go thru as an owner before I bought a truck.
I have no problem with that. He NEEDS to hear that. Because you’re right, a lot of people think everything is sweet being an owner. Because people blow their head up saying “you can make 5-7k a week easy.
But it’s either give him the help or tell him to just f off & learn it on his own.

I am a first time truck buyer. I got a 7% loan 36 month term on a 2016 Freightliner. My credit rating is over 700 and I had no debt, and 10k in unused credit cards.

Lots of factors go into loans.

Hey man no hard feelings :) I totally understand how that sort of pressure would cause you to lash out at random internet strangers!

My truck runs close to $18-20k a year in repairs. Now keep in mind I have a 99 with almost 2mill on the clock. My experience one you hit 750k you will be close to my numbers. If you don’t put $2000 a month away for repairs at least untill you hit 30-40k in the bank you are asking for financial trouble. Some may not agree with me that’s fine it’s just my years of experience.

I have spent about 2k per month on my truck for the first two months. About 1500 of that was maintenance deferred by Crete, which I decided to un-defer before it bit me in the ###. I am hoping to average a bit less as I catch up with maintenance Crete decided not to perform. I will be having the drums checked for roundness and condition when I get the truck home. I suspect I have one a little bit out of round due to some brake jitter during stops where I have to use significant brake pressure. It might also be an auto adjuster not adjusting. We shall see.
