Why so hung up on Schneider? I recommend Schneider as the go to mega to gain experience. But at the end of the day, they're still just a mega.
There's better companies for a seasoned driver if you want a company driver position.
I mean why get hung up on a tree, when you can run through the forest?

Its a big company. Lots of mixups and the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing. They will get you in a truck soon enough.

Are you sure this will be your call?? And I meant trucking... waiting for an Auto tranny truck because they said so... man f...them... just give me any truck WHILE you keep looking for that auto truck...in the meanwhile I need to be making money....

I would have made a scene at Orientation first on the stupid little paper to sign about auto and then especially on the paper promising never to drive manuals. What sort of BS is this?
Last I checked we are a Free Country, I want to drive a manual, No one is going to sit in the company telling me what I will drive or not drive of my own free will. I'll quit first.D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
How does a company Schneider's size have this issue?
86scotty Thanks this. -
He did his check ride in an auto, so we only KNOW that he can drive an auto. We don't KNOW that he can actually shift. We don't want anyone driving a truck until we have "certified" they know what they are doing.
Last Monday I watched an instructor teach an "experienced" driver how to line up a tractor in front of a trailer to get coupled. I have had "experienced hires" get dropped back into the inexperienced group and come out to my truck. They have over a year's experience and they could not shift. They did not understand how to match rpms to road speed, how to use a clutch, and thought holding it up against a gear until it grinds in is "floating". I'd say y'all would be amazed at the number of "experianced" hires we dump for skill issues during orientation, but y'all have seen what passes for drivers these day, so it isn't surprising. To put things in perspective we needed a bus to pick up the company orientaiton guys from the hotel on Monday, they used a 15 passaenger van to take them back to the hotel this afternoon. 75% attrition rate this week.D.Tibbitt, Lepton1, Truckermania and 7 others Thank this. -
I applied with a mega out of Nashville. The recruiter was all gushy and told me to pick an orientation day for the next week. I told her I had many questions regarding pay, etc. Still havent heard back. What a system.
