That’s me! Maybe a little longer if it’s really cold

I watch oil temperature... Looking for no less than 100F before putting it under a light load.
Usually I want 120F oil before pulling out of a rest area, etc where you're going to put a heavy load on the engine right away.

This is what we do. Takes a good 20-30 minutes for both trucks to budge off the 100 mark. We don't plug em in where we park

HAHAHA. You took me back years.

I remember a old codger once coming out, "HEY KID THAT BUTTON IS IN BY NOW GET GOING YER LATE."

I leave out the button part when I occasionally tease people with that get going yer late. He's dead for sure by now 10 feet deep in a lead lined coffin. I hope the family did not cheap out for a particle board coffin for that old coot...

I don't know how or when I started doing it, but I always turn the key, let it spin a few times and turn the key off. I keep an eye on the oil pressure gauge and when I see it move, I start the truck. Just a habit. And I never start a truck without checking the oil and water, got that from Dad and my Uncle.

I do that on my post trip. Don't do much of a pre trip because I like to catch any issues at end of the day

Pretty much tires, as you could have a puncture and not know about it until the morning and lights because they can stop working at all times. Most everything else the post trip should catch it.

In cold weather after she been sitting in my yard without any electric plugs and coolant webasto i like to get it wormed up by turning on my bunk espar before i roll out .. so coolant temp would be 150 .. dead idle first couple of minutes and then 1000rmp as per paccar manual. At least five minutes of 1000rpm idle before shutting her down again as per manual.. turning yhe fan sometime on very hot day
