Total hi jack of Dave’s thread, but I know that there is quite a few old Squids out there and I believe in Davy Jones— just finished watching Aquaman (the new version) — I thought it was awesome. Not quite as good as a John Wayne movie, but pretty awesome.

I love hauling like 15-40 pieces of poles or structural steel. You get loaded in Laredo in 1 minute. 1 or 2 huge forklifts pickup the entire 45,000 lbs and you just back under it. Strap it and go.

Then you get up north and there’s 1 guy on the ground throwing more gang signs then a deaf crip, 1 guy supervising, 1 guy moving the wood dunnage, 1 guy on the trailer, and the forklift driver. Picking up ONE piece at a time.

LOOOL, you have to be one impatient driver...Ive been in and out of the Riverside DC without a hinge...you know they have to offload, breakdown each skid to ties & highs, label them then receive them...i

ts not just an unload all the skids immediately sign you out and your free to go. Its the same at any Grocery DC

I finally quit OTR and came to work for these guys and its magnificent....superb even.

I had a receiver (some tank farm in Savannah, GA) pull my sample right before lunch but the operator left it in his office while the entire crew went to lunch, instead of sending it to the lab so that the test could be running during their lunch hour.

After the bills were signed I let him know just how displeased I was with his lack of consideration for my time.

    Dollar General dc
3207 Philpott Rd, South Boston, VA 24592

Somewhere, in the depths of Dante's Inferno, choking on the caustic stench of death, lies this truckers' torment.

Was sent there when I drove for Western Express. This may have something to do with it.

Took those bozos eight hours to offload and count the freight. DG uses some antiquated method to count and verify their freight.

Some point before their completion, I decided to ask what was taking so long in a not-so respectful tone. A manager then proceeded to defend their idiotic system with vigor.

After that, another manager attempted to add his blather to the mix. But before he could hit stride, I headed out the door and back to my tractor in disgust.
